PUBLISHING WITH CARE

The Truth to Live By
publishing system.

A private, owner-operated tool for preparing and publishing approved Truth to Live By material across the brand’s official channels.

What the application does

The publishing system helps the owner of Truth to Live By upload approved, locally stored videos and their accompanying titles, descriptions and other metadata to the official Truth to Live By YouTube channel. It also keeps separate publishing records for each configured brand and platform.

The application is an internal brand-management tool operated by Mark Walsh, the owner of the Truth to Live By project. It is not offered to the public, does not let visitors sign in, and does not publish videos belonging to other people.

How Google and YouTube access is used

Google OAuth authorisation allows the application to confirm that it is connected to the intended YouTube channel, refresh its authorised session and upload a video selected by the owner. The current workflow creates uploaded videos as private. Public, unlisted and scheduled publishing are blocked until a separate approval and compliance process is completed.

The application processes the authorised channel’s identifier and title, the video and metadata supplied by the owner, and the video identifier and status returned by YouTube. It does not ask for or receive the owner’s Google password.

The application requests these Google OAuth permissions:

  • youtube.upload — upload the owner-selected videos and their metadata.
  • youtube.readonly — read the authorised channel’s basic identity so the application can refuse to operate against an unexpected channel.

These permissions do not allow the application to read the owner’s Gmail, Google Drive or unrelated Google Account information.

Storage and control

Media, OAuth credentials, publishing state and operational logs remain in the owner’s local publishing environment. Credentials and media are excluded from the source repository. The public website does not receive OAuth tokens, operate the publisher or store uploaded video files.

Operational publishing logs are retained for 12 months and then deleted. OAuth credentials are retained only while the authorisation remains active and are deleted when replaced, revoked or no longer required.

Authorisation and withdrawal

The owner can remove the application’s Google access through the security settings of the authorising Google Account. Removing access prevents future token refresh and YouTube uploads. Approved requests to delete locally stored publishing records are completed within 30 days unless the records must be retained to meet a legal obligation.

Privacy information

The application uses Google information only to provide the owner-requested channel check and video-upload functions. It does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. See the Truth to Live By Privacy Notice for the information processed, its purpose, storage and deletion arrangements, and the contact route for privacy questions.
